Dynamic Evolution Simulation of Bus Bunching Affected by Traffic Operation State

چکیده
Bus bunching often occurs in public transit system, resulting a series of problems such as poor punctuality, long waiting time and low service quality. In this paper, we explore the influence discrete distribution traffic operation state on dynamic evolution bus bunching. Firstly, use self-organizing map (SOM) to find threshold analyze factors that affect based GPS data No. 600 line Xi'an. Then, taking headway research index, construct mechanism model. Finally, simulation platform is built by MATLAB examine trend when various influencing show different states along line. terms factors, inter vehicle speed, queuing at intersection loading station are shown have significant impact between buses. crowded road sections headway, long-distance concentrated will lead large interval or When randomly distributed among crowded, normal free, may fluctuate range, which result bunching, small range remain relatively stable. The change curve determined length each results can help formulate improvement measures according for equilibrium alleviating

A Dynamic Approach to Eliminate Bus Bunching
Bus schedules cannot be easily maintained on busy lines with short headways: Experience shows that buses offering this type of service usually arrive irregularly at their stops, often in bunches. Although transit agencies build slack into their schedules to alleviate this problem − if necessary holding buses at control points to stay on schedule − their attempts often fail because practical amo...
متن کاملBus Bunching Detection by Mining Sequences of Headway Deviations
In highly populated urban zones, it is common to notice headway deviations (HD) between pairs of buses. When these events occur in a bus stop, they often cause bus bunching (BB) in the following bus stops. Several proposals have been suggested to mitigate this problem. In this paper, we propose to find BBS (Bunching Black Spots) – sequences of bus stops where systematic HD events cause the form...
متن کاملA self - coördinating bus route to resist bus bunching ∗
The primary challenge for an urban bus system is to maintain constant headways between successive buses. Most bus systems try to achieve this by adherence to a schedule; but this is undermined by the tendency of headways to collapse, so that buses travel in bunches. To counter this, we propose a new method of coördinating buses. Our method abandons the idea of a schedule and even any a priori t...

متن کاملBus Bunching Detection: A Sequence Mining Approach
1 Mining public transportation networks is a growing and explosive challenge due to the increasing number of information available. In highly populated urban zones, the vehicles can often fail the schedule. Such fails cause headway deviations (HD) between high-frequency bus pairs. In this paper, we propose to identify systematic HD which usually provokes the phenomenon known as Bus Bunching (BB...
